I have been a huge James Bond fan for many years. I grew up watching the old films. I always liked Sean Connery, he was a great Bond. Roger Moore, for me at least, was more of a ‘comedy’ bond where as Sean Connery was more ‘gritty’. I think Daniel Craig has really captured this grit once again and the recent Bond movies are much more realistic (as much as Bond films can be realistic!) but certainly more so than the laughable invisible cars that we saw in Die Another Day for example.
Supercars and James Bond go hand-in-hand and none more so than the truly iconic Aston Martin. The DB5 will always be ‘The Bond car‘ in my opinion. I first saw the DB5 in Goldfinger and that memorable moment where one of the baddies was catapulted out of the sunroof via an ejector seat triggered from the gear lever.
I was glad to see the DB5 make an appearance once again in Skyfall.
I would have to say that if I could have any supercar right now from the more present day then it would have to be the Aston Martin DBS. This awesome car made its debut in Casino Royale. It is absolutely stunning and I was almost in tears when Bond wrote it off in quite spectacular fashion.
Imagine my delight a few years back when I saw a gleaming Aston Martin DBS in the airport departure lounge when I was off on my hols. Best of the Best (BotB), the Supercar competition company, were giving people the chance of actually winning an Aston Martin and how could I pass up on such an opportunity? I excitedly hurried over and purchased my tickets. Unfortunately I was not lucky but whoever won that Aston must have felt like all their Christmases had come at once.
Imagine that phone call! Being told that you have just won the car of your dreams!. And it’s not just Aston Martin’s, you only have to take a look at their website to see just how many other incredible supercars you could win. I have been playing regularly and one day, just maybe, I might just win!
