A Weekend Well Spent Brings a Week of Content: Ideas and Inspo

Day's Out DVD Film & TV Home & Garden My Family

Have you ever heard the phrase, ‘a weekend well spent brings a week of content’? It’s so true! The better you spend the weekend, the more content you’ll feel throughout the week. There’s nothing worse than realising the weekend has flew by and that you haven’t exactly done anything with it. Here are some ideas and inspo, whether you’re on your own, a couple or a family. Enjoy!

Have a Picnic

There probably isn’t a more satisfying way to spend your weekend than by having a picnic with your family and friends. It’s getting a little bit colder now, but that’s no reason not to have a picnic. You can set one up in your own living room in exactly the same way! Young kids will still love this and they can watch a film at the same time or you can all simply have a catch up.

Go Hiking

Hiking is a really good way for families to spend quality time together and stay active. The fresh air is great for health too, and seeing the beautiful scenery around where you live is always nice. If you want to make sure you all stay healthy together, try to get a hike in once a week. Even if it’s only a short one! If you’re not sure where to go in the area, you can find out more online. You’re bound to find some amazing hikes for all activity levels, and even just short walks.

Visit Friends and Relatives

By simply visiting friends and relatives, you can have a satisfying catch up. I always feel much better after visiting a family member or friend I haven’t seen for a while.

Go to a Gig

I just love the atmosphere you get at gigs. Whether you’re going to see a comedian or singer, you can bet you’ll have an amazing time. It’s so easy to find gigs near you online too, even if it’s short notice. Click here to find out more.

Christmas Shopping

Christmas is just around the corner, so Christmas shopping could be a great way to spend a day or even half a day on the weekend. Some people hate it, but if you start getting it done now before things get hectic, you’ll feel much better.

De-clutter your home, from the kitchen to the bedrooms to make it feel like a more peaceful place. If you all do this together and put on a motivational playlist, you should get it done much faster! You may even find some things to give to charity or sell.

Movie Marathon

A movie marathon is a good idea for those lazy weekends, or weekends when you just don’t want to go outside because of all of the snow and rain. It’s that time of year where this is acceptable, so bring the quilt downstairs or even make a fort. Make sure you have plenty of snacks too!

Museum Visits

If you’d rather do something educational on the weekend, why not go for a museum trip as a family? There are so many museums you could visit, and a boat load of interesting information to learn!

Ready to spend your weekend as productively as you possibly can? You’ll have a great time whoever you’re with if you use these tips. Don’t do nothing all weekend and then complain!
